Thankfully, we were planning to remove our fence anyway as it had to come down for the pumper truck to get close enough and out from under some wires. Thanks to Kaylon Faul and Joshua Hughes for the help! Here is a little video of the fence removal and pics of the work:

Beginning the basement walls

This is yesterday's progress. This morning Bob and Tucker went to pick up more forms so more will be done this afternoon. Woohoo!

The first concrete pour

Tucker did his school here for a while to help keep children and animals off the wet concrete. 😄

We used the excess to enlarge the step outside Mom & Dad's house so the kids can take their muddy shoes off OUTSIDE the house. Much better! 

An update already!

I realized that there was no picture of what has already been dug. So here we go:

Our addition!!!!

We have been intending to put an addition on our house ever since we moved here 6 years ago. Every year, however, SOMETHING has seemed to take a higher priority. BUT, this is the year!!!! I am pleased to announce that Bob has begun the digging of the basement and we will actually be keeping up with our blog again with the updates! 

Here are a few before pictures as well as the ground-breaking ceremony. 😀

Tucker will be helping extensively with this project. Here he is, already hard at work!
